Gatsby Glamour
Hannah says:
With Australian director Baz Luhrmann remaking the classic "The Great Gatsby" film (with Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role, and Carey Mulligan as his object of desire, Daisy Buchanan) it's time to get into the glamorous world of twenties fashion, F.Scott Fitzgerald style. Fitzgerald and his wife, Zelda, were not the type to stay at home. Rather, the whole world of luxury was theirs, from the French Rivieria to Paris to New York; and their experiences together became a series of now impossibly famous novels; from The Beautiful and the Damned to Tender is the Night. The Great Gatsby, set in the social whirl of Long Island and Manhattan, and the players dress accordingly, in the most stylish attire and jewellery of their day. So, as Atelier-Mayer has amazing vintage for all eras, I chose this black sequined AND pearled gown, which, although of Eighties make, with its drop-waist, really gives that Twenties shape; I added a rope of long pearls, a ribbon headband and voila - hopefully I would pass muster at one of Gatsby's famous parties, parties he only held on the of chance that Daisy would, one day, come...
