Gucci 1970's bamboo handbag sold
A beautiful 1970's black handbag by Gucci. The bag is made from soft black ostrich leather and has two brown bamboo handles. A zip fastens along the top of the bag with two small pieces of bamboo attached to the zip. Five metal studs sit on the base of the bag to keep it off of the floor and inside there is one main compartment with an extra zip pocket. This bag is in excellent condition.

The bamboo handle has become one of Gucci most iconic designs. It was developed in reaction to the wartime shortages of metal in 1947. The bamboo handle instantly became a hit and is still being used in many of Gucci's designs today.
