A super chic 1980's purple wool tulip dress by Donna Karan. The dress has a round neckline and long sleeves. A seam runs around the waist and the skirt flares out into a tulip style. An inside pocket sits on the front of each hip, disguised by the gentle pleating at the front of the skirt. The dress is fitted over the bust and waist, flaring out over the hips and finishing at the knee. This dress is in excellent condition.

Donna Karan looked set for a career in fashion since childhood. Her mother was a model and her stepfather was a tailor. After attending Parsons school of design, Karan left work for Anne Klein, eventually becoming head of the Anne Klein design-team. She left in 1985 to launch her Donna Karan label.
