1930's mint bakelite brooch

An exquisite Bakelite and diamante brooch from the 1930's. The brooch is split into quarters, two of which are in mint coloured Bakelite and the other two encrusted with clear diamante and rhinestones. The brooch fastens at the back with a brooch pin and is in excellent condition.
Bakelite was created in 1907 and was used by jewellery designers from the 1920’s onwards. Lucite, a clear version of Bakelite was invented in 1937, which became more popular into the 1950’s.
