LRNCE x Atelier Mayer Candle
Atelier Mayer collaborates with Marrakesh-based LRNCE to introduce an exclusive candle that pays homage to the Wiener Werkstätte, where ceramics were central to the idea of Gesamtkunstwerk: Art, craft, and daily life seamlessly united in objects made to be used and treasured. The Werkstätte’s ceramic universe was shaped by visionary designers and makers: Dagobert Peche’s witty, ornamental exuberance, the pioneering Wiener Keramik circle led by Michael Powolny and Berthold Löffler and later, the celebrated women of the ceramic workshop such as Vally Wieselthier and Gudrun Baudisch, whose sculptural, expressive forms became instantly iconic. Belgian designer Laurence Leenaert, founder of LRNCE shares that same devotion to the handmade, reworking materials with intuition, collaborating closely with artisans, and keeping Moroccan craftsmanship at the heart of every one-of-a-kind piece. This collaboration with Atelier Mayer is a bridge between Vienna’s design heritage and contemporary artisan mastery. This candle’s hand-painted ceramic vessel isn’t simply a container - it’s the pièce de résistance: a functional artwork inspired by Secessionist graphics, visually bold yet beautifully balanced, finished with fine-line painted details that reward a closer look. Four wicks deliver a steady, luminous burn for a calm, golden atmosphere - and once the wax is gone, the vessel lives on, exactly as the Wiener Werkstätte intended: beauty with purpose.
MANDARIN ORIENTAL X ATELIER MAYER
Mandarin Oriental Marrakech and Atelier Mayer join forces to elevate Marrakech's contemporary art scene. M.O Studio at Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, is a unique space that celebrates the intersection of cultures, making contemporary art accessible while honouring artistic diversity. Founded by Carmen Haid and Moroccan artist Idriss Karnachi, the studio merges nature and architecture in a harmonious play of light and shadow. Inspired by the 1905 Wiener Werkstatt movement, its striking black-and-white design contrasts with the resort’s serene luxury. During the day, the studio serves as an artistic sanctuary, inviting guests to explore its minimalist aesthetic and engage in contemplation. At night, it transforms into a vibrant venue for celebrations and events, merging art with the lively atmosphere of Marrakech.
