This Edwardian family home incorporates an unexpected but harmonious mix of materials, decorations and shapes into its design. Wood panelling with a linear diamond shaped motif reminiscent of those produced by the Viennese Secessionist workshop, Wiener Werkstätte adorn the walls of the fumoir – furnished with sumptuous velvet drapes; Jean-Michel Frank chairs; a modernist tripod ashtray and 1960s Gudrun Baudisch vase. The Wiener Werkstätte references continue into the kitchen, with its Josef Hoffmann Thonet dining chairs; Koloman Moser chandelier; bespoke iron and brass work inspired by Gustav Klimt; Paris Metro tiles and reclaimed wood floor stained with a graphic pattern. 1960s Pierre Cardin wallpaper, hand painted Turkish tiles, moorish wooden panels and a Victorian bathtub are contrasted with traditional Chadder & Co fixtures in the bathroom. A Moroccan-style tent by the artist Olivier Mourão is installed in the living room, which is furnished with pillows cut from Peruvian carpets; curtains and a mandala made from antique Suzani textiles; a giant disco ball, and an eclectic art collection.
